Polish. Rooster or hen?

I’ve been told rooster by several folks and hen by others. Phil/Phyllis is a 6 months old Polish. No eggs yet. Phil also gets froggy and will kick at me sometimes. I’ve read you can tell by their hair do but I’m just not sure.

That's because mine are English Polands as opposed to American Polish!

I have to agree! My little Polish hen is one of my better layers. The first year her eggs were kind of smallish but here in the second year she’s laying very nice sized eggs. She doesn’t lay daily but I would say I get 4-5 eggs a week from her.
She only stopped laying for about three weeks when she was molting earlier this year.
