Polish Roosters

I have a very sweet polish roo who talks to me everytime he sees me. I can walk up to him in the coop, and pet him. Hes very sweet and gentle. Even to his ladies he's very gentle.

He is a silver laced... here he is.. mick jagger...

I only ever had on buff laced polish roo. He was VERY MEAN! I kept the girls, but after he attacked my son and me twice he was a very dead rooster. The hens I kept are cute and very timid. Only one lets me pet her and carry her around.

Here are my Polish. Mine do not seem aggressive yet. I also have a little buff laced Polish roo. I couldn't get a picture of him because he was so curious about me that he stayed too close to take a picture.

I wish, no they are a splash Polish. Hatched out of eggs marked blue Polish. See, they only have the 4 toes.

YOU ALL JINXED ME!

This morning, my leghorn hen sang her egg song, and I went out to see if she'd laid or not. Well the rooster ran up to fence and followed me along it. I thought he wanted treats. I went in anyway. He brocked and brocked at me, didnt charge totally, but he hopped toward me (he has a limp still). I told him to knock it off. I HAD SANDALS ON! So i stood still until he got in front of me... and i snatched him up, held him and pet him while i walked around the coop. I put him down and he stopped. BUT i noticed when I left he was doing his Chippendale dance for the leghorn. I'm thinking he wanted to mate or he was mad because I ruined his mojo this morning.

What do you all think?

I think it is just the birds know spring is coming and more mating and hens to protect.

Yes, now that spring is vast approaching boys are getting very cranky and ready to fight for girls again. Don't take it as an absoloute threat just yet but nip it in the butt right away. Don't let your boy think you are his inferrior. I hope little Jagger stays sweet. What a cutie he is!
