They do have some trouble with dipping their heads in water. These two do really well with using chicken nipples. Maybe you could try that? My SL Polish seem to drink any water just fine, but these two definately do better with the chicken nipples.

I will see about the nipples then.
Thank you!

Holy smoke!!! I just looked at what the tolbunts went for. One good thing - DH is not questioning why I have spent $40-50 on eggs any more.

BTW - I did notice on a comment from buyers from GFF that they do give a 3-day guarantee. Hope they don't have far to go.

Does anyone own Red Crested Red Polish ?

Went to the feed store & couldn't resist the polish chicks I saw.

they are what I think are called Red Crested Red Polish,

The chicks down color is all dark/ buff color with strips running down some of their necks & parts of their backs.

Just was to curious to see what they would look like & how they would look featherd out & can't wait

Red Crested Reds in the US are created by Ideal Hatchery. I'd keep clear of 'em of if I were you.

That or start your own project. . . .

I have a question...
last weekend i went to a BST and picked up a nice WC black standard hen..
i do not have pics of her yet but she is Non Bearded.
i'm not sure i am a fan of her yet... my other hens are bearded
My roo is Non Bearded right?

the chicks I have hatched so far are bearded, do they always take after the hen?
is it ok to breed a Bearded to a Non?
i want to keep up ( if not improve) the standard

I got them, because I hear about them but have never seen them

especially as adults.

I am sure someone out there has them. so that got me wondering about them.

Not to say I am expecting much from these guys just wondering about adult feather color.

Don't worry no hatchery stock will be mixed with my existing polish flock.

Yes, your roo is non-bearded. You can breed bearded to non and most chicks should hatch with beards, as they are incompletely dominate. However, you will still get non-beardeds, too. And breeding non to non, all chicks will be non.
