Yup. The "pullet" in this picture had a growth spurt while we were on vacation and I returned to find that she now has wattles and a "wild rooster" crest. Oh, well, I guess we're taking him back.

well, i gave away one of my WCB roosters...good news tho, the guy needed him for breeding and he said that I'll be getting chicks later on...we'll see...

My silkies were beating him up too, so it's a happy ending for everyone. He also took my blue silkie rooster for a 4H-er that just lost her rooster to a fox....

Ok...I have a polish question. Will hens sometimes try to crow?? Here is a pic of my polish bantam (I posted a photo a few days ago and the responses were "hen") well, today she/he was in the coop and let out a very clear crow. It wasnt super loud or anything but definitly a crow...lol:th I am truly hoping it was a hen.

Funny..cause I have 3 different age group of chickens and this is my only polish and she hangs with 4 silkies and it looks like she is their leader. When I sit on the bench swing in the evening and just watch them she bosses them around and they go where she goes...like she makes all the decisions:pop...that is until the big chickens come and chase them. I am so glad shes a hen...she is very affectionate too.
Thanks!
