Very neat. Are you not in the US or are you crossing Buff, Columbian, or Wheaten based breeds? The Mille Fleur type one appears to have white legs and a huge single comb, the others aren't common US colored Polish. Neat, but not heard of out here.

Hello I'm new to the Polish world. I have a blue polish pullet that is going on 4 week old, her name is Rain. Her coloring reminds me of rain clouds with a large fluffy top. She is just so cute and spirited. I have an outside chick run (temporary) that is 4 feet high. There is a gate of the same height. Today when I took them out to stretch their wings, she jumped/flew almost out of the run by way of the gate. She got at least 3 feet high and was trying to climb the rest but didn't make it. Are Polish chickens very flighty? If yes, will clipping her wing (later on when she has all feathers in) keep her in? Like the rest of my chickens have done, will she eventually get to a point where she can't jump/fly over the fencing? My entire yard is surrounded by a 4 foot fence and there is no way I can change that.

Having limited experience with Polish I don't have a positive answer for you, but I would think once her crest develops and limits her eyesight to where her upper vision is impaired that she would not have as much of a tendency to fly up as high. As far as clipping the wings, I would only do that as a last resort. I read that sometimes when you clip wings it keeps the bird from molting. I have one EE hen that I clipped her wings when she was young to keep her from flying out and becoming dinner for our local Bob Cat. She is now over 2 years old and has never molted. She looks pretty ratty!

So I don't clip my birds wings unless it is absolutely necessary

I'm glad others think they are neat to. i live in the us in Penn. i found them at a poultry sale and thought they were cool looking and different. so i have no idea what they used to get the coloring. if you have any ideas my ears are open. yes the milli fleur one has white legs, the hens have grey. his comb is big, i think that is why it flopped over. sounds like i should breed and start a different color for around here. thanks for the messages
