Watch for any sign that your other birds are picking at their crests. If you see that, immediately tape crest up to deny access to the damaged feathers and scalp. Getting 2 is good. They need a friend.

As in painters tape? I've heard of taping the crests but never heard what type of tape. Oh! Medical tape? lol

(I have a friend who tapes her bangs up with painters tape when she quilts so that's what came to mind...yes she is s character
