Poultrycrazy: The gold laced boy isn't show quality, but you could try with the Silver Laced. Do you have other photos of her? Does she have any solid feathers in her crest?

Here's my Tolbunt Polish, going on 5 months.

Wow! They are quite amazing!
I have some Mille Fleur Cochins. They are colorful too but their fancy feathers are at the other end of the bird.
I am enjoying all the beautiful birds on your thread!

I dont have any more pics of her but i what about by buff laced? And i LOVE your tolbunts do you sell them?

I'm not sure on her. I don't know too much on the buff laced, she seems okay except a little too light in color, and it seems she's got vulture hocks or something. Also, I think her tail is too high of an angle set.

My Tolbunts are just boys, whom I'm crossing to other colors to improve them genetically with, so right now I'm not selling anything in relevance to them.

Hello, Polish lovers! I just discovered this thread and will be going back to read previous posts. I've had WCBs for a few years just because I enjoy them but am getting more interested in breeding quality birds. My WCB roo that I bought at the Ohio Nationals last year appears to be shooting blanks--not a fertile egg from his three "wives," which I am gradually switching over to the blue cockerel that I got in August (thanks, CalicoKat--he's calming down now!) until I find a nice new roo. Also got some nice gold-laced from eggs I purchased this summer; unfortunately only 1 pullet out of 10 chicks, but she looks pretty good.

Now a couple of questions (maybe more!) from one desperate to learn:

The Polish breeders club site does not mention a distinction between bantam and LF Polish, just a weight range that seems to apply to all, but I see listings for bantam and LF. I don't even know what I have! Can somebody help me out?

Are Polish more susceptible to disease than other breeds? I have rarely had a problem with cocci in my chicks, but when it did occur, it began with Polish chicks. I've never had a chick develop it that wasn't in a brooder with a Polish chick that got sick first. And yes, I do keep my brooders sanitized and clean!

Also, a few years ago I had a cockerel that developed what appeared to be Marek's; I isolated him and nobody else got sick, but one of my GL chicks is showing possible signs of it now--quarantined! Of course, he is the cockerel that I had chosen to keep; fortunately I kept a back up, but he isn't quite as nice.

I intend to attend a few shows this fall looking for breeding stock and appreciate any and all advice!

Thanks, everyone!

Hey there! Welcome to the thread here, and I'm thrilled to hear he is settling in well!! He's going to make some sharp looking chicks I think

Your three chicks are doing well too, still hanging out with their "Momma".
