Don't quote me, as I'm not positive, but check with Aubrey at Boggy Bottom Bantams - I think he may have (or may have had) Polish in a few different self varieties.

Thanks.... that brings up another question then...are there all of the self colors, then? Blue? buff? a Red, ? Over in Europe? I have the Standard book. In there only the crested, laced and white are mentioned.

Check out feathersite, they have lots of great pictures there. Also, keep in mind, red is a work in progress color that hatcheries have started, not an accepted color in Polish. Also check out the Polish Breeders club. According to them, there is only slef black, buff, and cuckoo.

Thanks so much for the info. If I should ever enter a chicken show, I will be careful to call the color by the accepted term so as not to disqualify myself.
When I begin selling chicks later on I will be sure and advertise them as wc chocolate or wc khaki so as not to ruffle too many feathers.

The abundance of frizzled photos you're seeing is probably a bunch of my ONE frizzled cockerel, then followed by other people's frizzled cockerels.

Adding frizzling to the mix is the same as why one would add frizzling to anything else, but on top of that, it looks really cool on Polish, and even cooler on a tolbunt colored one. Plus it isn't like we're ruining the bird. . . Frizzling is like tufts anyway. You can only have one parent of it to breed correctly, and you'll get a 50/50 chance.

Personally I'm a bigger fan of smooth tolbunts, but I like my frizzled one better than the smooth I own because my smooth has too big of a comb, a butterfly type comb, too small of a crest, and too high set of a tail.

Wow!

Everyone your birds are beautiful. I have 5 month old Gold Laced Polish. I would like to get some pictures up here so you all can tell me what you think of them, if they are worth breeding etc. I have 2 Roosters & 3 hens.
What age should I expect them to start laying?
