Well, if you're going to try to breed BCW's my hat's off to you, particularly if you want to wind up with something exhibition quality. There's a lot of work to do there. Those and the tolbunts need people working in their corner who aren't afraid to hatch a lot of chicks to get something worth breeding from. I hope we get to see pictures of your progress in the next few generations.

You should see Joel Henning's WCB Polish (I believe Folkloric Bantams is their name) They're BEAUTIFUL!!!! The roosters have huge flowing crests and awesome feather coloring and quality. You should REALLY see them. At a show in Massachusetts, the northeastern poultry congress, they won Best Polish AND Best Continental. They're amazing birds.

I third the sentiment that Joel's Polish are awesome! But Folkloric Bantams is Jan Brett--who also has fabulous bantam WCBs (Joel has both LF and bantam).

SO I AM SO EXCITED.....went to the stockon CA poultry show yesterday and came home with a beauitiful buff laced polish hen she is 9 months old and I named her PUNKIN ...i'll post pictures later.

Love this thread!! Haven't got any chickens, but I adore the polish. <3 My friend had a golden-laced hen who was absolutely gorgeous, with the sweetest personality. Then the neighbor's dog tore through the metal fencing that enclosed the coop and run and killed her and 3 other chickens. D8 It was horrible.

Anyways, I'm loving all the pictures and stories! Quick question though, what's "WC" mean? I haven't gotten all the terminology down yet, and with snakes "WC" stands for "Wild-caught", but that just CAN'T be the case here, LOL!!

Thanks Sportsterjeep!

VERY nice! Course, bantam Polish often are. . .

I myself just got two more Silver Laced Polish chicks, around a month old. Pretty sure one is a boy though, and I don't need a boy, especially of its quality, but they're cute for the mean time anyway. Other than that, I just hatched out an accidental Tolbunt Polish x Black Copper Marans. Meant for it to be a Shamo x Marans, but looks like the short time my Tolbunt was in there, his genes lasted a good while in a couple of the hens afterword.
