Love these hens!! The white crested always seem to have the best crests...........
To rockerhen & mccaff mama hen (post #2134) I didn't chime in on your birds type- cause there was a couple things I wasn't 100% about (wattle size & tail carriage) Your roos look very nice to me- however- the wattles seem big (as do mom's GL to me) and the tails seemed high..... which I think looks great personally...... however I've learned that they are not suppose to be "too tall". (the SL roo doesn't have big wattles...... and I love his tail- which might mean it's too high set)
I don't have a SOP to compare things to yet (the SOP on the Polish website is a bantam SOP, and not sure if it is differant for the LF) I'm still learning- I've only had Mom's Polish to play with the last 2 years (and a few shows I went to) & my own birds are just over a week old- cause we are moving to a house soon I can have birds at finally and stop visiting mom's birds!!! Since she lives an hour away.... it isn't easy to go there but a few times a month. And soon she'll live farther away than that.
I got one for you guys......
How many of you have " broody " Polish hens????
I think I have a rare one. She has been sitting on eggs for almost 2 weeks now.
I don't know if she is going to stick it out or what will happen to the babies if they do hatch but I will keep you posted

Oh, I hope she does! Keep us updated. I'm hoping I'll have some broody Polish but if not I have other breeds to do their work. Although I'm thinking I want to breed some broody into them.
