She is somewhat nearby, I think Cottonwood or Anderson, I can't remember right off because I picked them up from a friend of hers in Red Bluff, CA, that had some room in her incubator. Red Bluff is closer to me but they would be worth traveling further for! I'm really pleased with everything about them.

No, sorry my post was confussing. Two breeders are friends and the one breeder (of Marans and Ameraucanas) had some room in her incubator so she added some Polish eggs for her friend who breeds Polish. I bought the Polish chicks....and resisted picking up a couple Marans!

I am curious as to who the Polish breeder is that the chicks came from since I am just getting into them and you aren't far from where I live. Maybe 2 1/2 hours at the most

I sent you a PM. Also, I'll have hatching eggs or chicks in the spring.

Mine are 5 weeks old and jumped up on my head today, LOL.

I wonder if it has anything to do with how many? I have two that are 5 weeks, and these have been the most clingy and unafraid that I've had.

I am hoping I can get some opinions and pointers on my three roosters. I think I know which one to keep, but it would be nice to get some feedback about their color and confirmation. These are bantams and they are 13 wks old. Thanks!

Rooster #1 (note the one black feather in his saddle feathers)

Rooster #2 (he doesn't normally hold his tail this high)

Rooster #3 (Sport?)

Actually he shouldn't.

The first one has a tail of what angle it should be - 45 degrees. The second one is carrying his much higher than 45, which is a common problem in Polish. I'd rather mine be lower than higher than they should be.

I'm no Buff Laced breeder, and even less a breeder of Bantams. . . .

But I'd personally take #2, granted his tail isn't normally that high. The other two appear to carry only one dominant white gene with those stray black feathers, or have some other sort of issue, and #3 obviously has a lacing issue too as well as a smaller beard. #2 also has better wattles, while #1 is even getting too big of a comb at this age.

They are still young though, but, my #1 choice is in number 2, my second choice is in #1.

What I'd be asking though is who are the parents, are they all related here, and, any others also hatching out with black in them?
