Polish Thread!

Pics
Each other. It was confined to just the 3 of them, but it appears now they are including another bantam. I recently put pine tar on the crest of the two polish that had crest damage, so that may have caused the guilty party(s) to pluck the bantam roosting with them. This forced me to put pine tar on the recently included bantam also.
Pine tar?

It would be good to separate them, but I only have pens. I'm sure they will continue to pluck once rejoined, plus they are already proving they are willing to pluck birds places other than their crest.

I have 4 chicks and one is a white crested black polish. The others are a silkie and 2 BO. I haven't noticed any pronlems to date. They are about 3-4 weeks old now and starting to feather out. I noticed that my polish started looking a little bald on top so I set up a camera to see if she is being pecked. Nothing in 48 hours of video. I'm attaching a pic of her the day I got them and then one from today. I have no idea what could be causing this. Help!

This is Felicity, my 7 week old buff laced Polish. When she was a baby (ok tinier baby) she was the most outgoing, alert and friendly of the bunch. Lately she’s become.....hate to say it.....a bit dull-witted. She rarely leaves the coop even when all the others go out, then she stands and cries loudly.

In hindsight I remember coming out to the coop one day and noticing she seemed “lost” compared to her previous behavior. I’m wondering if she got pecked in the head, or if her personality change is just part of breed maturation?
Photos are all Felicity from early until now. Last photo is just after trimming feathers around her eyes. Didn’t help.

The view from my pillow.....

I think Felicity might be a Felix? There are v-shaped comb nodules under that mop, and all the new feathers on back and saddle are coming in long, slender and silkie/shiny.

Two weeks ago I purchase 7 six week old chicks, sold to me as pullets. Two are Laced Polish, one a golden and the other a buff. From day one I thought the buff one, that I named Buffy (after Buffy the Vampire Slayer) because of aggression demonstrated, to be a male. But now I think that they are both males, and unfortunately even my favorite of the 7, my tiny Porcelain D'Uccle, Sweetpea, might be a male. I live in Queens, NY so I can't have roosters. :'(

They are now 2 months old. Both are pretty skittish and don't like to be touched or picked up. Only Buffy shows wattle, the golden one has a beard so can't see of it's also growing a wattle. Can you tell for sure if they are male?
