How old is Daisy now? I don't see sickle feathers in the tail, but her crest and wattles look pretty manly. Perhaps Daisy is really Duke? Either way, that's one good looking bird!

I need to bathe Zulu, but am not sure where my suit of armor is at the moment. [IMG]

Well update is filled with good amd sad news...
There was a total of 10 out of 11. One passed and another is right behind. They pipped and after 72 hrs were chirping but had turned in the eggs and couldn't unzip. Assisted with hatch but they are not doing well so expect 2 nd to pass too :(

Splayed and curled toes have been shackled and toes taped and sitting in a cup. Got tape off and legs looked good so tried to let it her walk...just toppled over amd "swam" around with wings. So shackled and taped again. Been taking nutri-drench and placed in a dish as seemed to be having issues with neck from sitting in cup???

Other 7 are thriving and absolutely adorable! !!

Poly Vi Sol is supposed to be good for both feet and neck. It is an infant vitamin. I am sorry about the loss of the other. Wishing you the best for this little one.

Hopefully will be able to breed him. The previous owner never got any of his eggs to hatch, but I'm hoping with fresh air, sunshine, extra nutrition, vitamins, etc. I will be able to. He was kept in a small show pen. Didn't even know how to roost. :)

Poly-Vi-Sol NO IRON is what we use for our girls. We only give a drop on side of beak away from nostril until the annoying drop is finally licked up by the chicken's tongue. If they shake the drop off just keep putting a drop on the side of the beak til you see their tongue licking it up.

I like using the little wooden skewers to pry open a beak when you have to dose a chicken. It is gentler than using your fingers. You just stroke from the tip of the beak toward the head where the upper and lower meet and the beak will open easily.
