Ok my polish friends I need some help!
I am getting started in the show world and before I really kick it off I want to learn as much as I can!

Ok so I have 2 polish Roos, one silver and one gold, that I got for fun and just wante some opinions....
•would these two be considered breed standard?
•what are some good points of the 2 birds?
•what are the bad points of the 2 birds?
•the person I got them from clipped the wings so they wouldn't fly! Will they grow back normal??
•what should I look for most in a show polish?

I had my beautiful Polish roo killed by a neighbors dog. I had plans to breed him and maybe show him. I need to know what he may have been worth. My neighbors dog grabbed one of my bantams 2 times this summer and both times we saved her. The neighbor admitted to me he lets his dog out at night because he knows I lock the birds up at night but his dog was locked up all day yesterday. We went out for most of the day so maybe he figured we were gone so he'd just let her out. His dog was in my yard earlier this week at night because I had all the lights off and was sleeping on the couch! I got the police involved because I don't want to loose anymore animals. So I was wondering if anyone knows what he may have been worth. He was 9 months old, sweet as can be and had beautiful feathering. This was Harely: The fenced in pic was taken by his previous owner.

I would say you tell them at the VERY least $75.

Polish are not readily available. They are an exotic, ornamental breed.

You have fed him to get him to the point where he could breed and now that is lost to you, not only that, the hens he would have bred are getting older by the minute.

He truly was a gorgeous bird.

Good luck replacing him.

I'm sorry. I plan on breeding in spring they are a breeding pair so I cant wait. I see you are in MO too
