Polish Thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your right poultryqueen. I looked at there head puffs real good today and chicken two has lots of pointier feathers in his poof. The other one has rounded feathers. So now I have another question. If these guys are a pair, could I breed them? I got them together and I'm pretty sure they are probably from the same parents.

yes, but dont breed the babies back to them, now that would cause problems. But try and find a few more hens. We think that happened with our ameraucanas and now henis breeding his daughters, and the hatch rate isnt great.

Ok well I have 3 more tolbunt chicks, they are three weeks. They are from eggs i got on eBay. Hoping one or two is a hen. I can't tell yet but they sure are cute.

Here's a pic of the other 3 Tolbunt chicks i have. There were four, but I lost one.

Treat Farms (ebay, I'm ashamed to admit. Lol!)

Why ashamed...your chicks are healthy and beautiful! I've sold eggs on ebay, I found buyers much less fickle. and competition increases profit. Also I'm able to work more from home rather than travel. Please don't get me wrong I love my birds that's why I have them but when eggs pay for feed for All my animals that's pretty efficient and allows me to spend the money i would be on feed to make my pens bigger, safer and cleaner. I'm not scolding you i just wanted to give a different perspective.

Polishmom what exactly is the spangling? I will check them later to see.

It is the placement of small patches of white/black/blue on the edge of the feathers... I will show examples.

from what I understand of the Tolbunt color standard they should have white, gold laced (which yours have) and spangled feathering. that's why I asked you about it I couldn't tell from the pics .I've noticed that it doesn't show till they're a several months old in my spangled breed so don't panic if they don't have any/many, and I'm not an expert on Tolbunts or color genetics.

I just generally like to buy locally, and to not enourage potentially poor breeding/keeping practices. I feel like with ebay, you don't really know what you are getting & from what conditions.May be great, may be not. ;)

I have no idea what color this one is. I have only seen the one tolbunt color(like the pair in recent posts here), is this another?

I am a little disappointed because these chicks were supposed to potentially be frizzles. I love the color variety that hatched, but they are 8 days old & none appear frizzled. :( Statistically improbable. Still love the colors. Maybe stats will work in my favor and they are all pullets. :p
