Polish Thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I need a blue.  :th

If we were closer I would send you some gladly!! I'm over run with them, I have a blue splash roo in with gold lace girls and all chicks are blue.
This last hatch I've done I tried putting more eggs in from the other pen of mixed coloured girls rather than all blue ones as when people to come to buy they want a variety and not just blue. As much as I love the roo I really should have done a bit more research into the genetic side of things!! I may swap him for something else. Here is my last hatch ~

Do you have straight GL? I would trade an organ or body part for some GL eggs..I have 2 Tolbunt chicks and 24 more eggs on the way so hoping for a better hatch from these..

I have 2 mixed groups. The blue splash roo and gold lace girls and a frizzle silver lace roo with chamois, gold lace and white crested black girls.

Some of the chicks from the silver lace roo girls come out the solid colour of either the hen or roo. But some a real mixed bag. We are hoping to get moved sometime in the near future to a place where I can have more runs etc to do the proper breeding for the right colours.

We've become absolutely fascinated with the Polish...We have a White Crested Black 'flock' and we're building a Silver Laced and Gold Laced 'flock'...The Tolbunt are on the list! We also like messing with them, we have WCB hens with Sultans to make Pultans which are Polish plus(i.e. more feathers, feet, cuffs, beard, etc.)

I have an Amber link hen with silver roo!! I have incubated 6 of her eggs this year and all 6 have hatched. First 2 eggs got a silver lace looking frizzle and a like brown chick. Not really sure how to describe the colours here are the first 2 chicks ~

This time I put 4 eggs in and got 2 yellow chicks which I'm presuming will be white/ish like the hen? Another silver looking colour and a black one. You get a real mix bag with her being a hybrid already.

Love these eggs are they are the unknown when they hatch.

Polish are definitely my favorite breed..Silkies used to be but the polish won me over fast..when my Tolbunts start laying I will gladly swap them for GL

Same here, and I feel a lil guilty about it...I felt I was getting a lil complacent with silkies due to familiarity, I had to stand back and realize how special they still are, even though the polish are stunning in their own way...

Yes, Silkies are the lab of the chicken world..fairly common, loyal and pretty to look at..Polish are like the Catahoula's.. some are easy to find, some are harder but once you find the one you like, you have to have more and they're hands down the prettiest (imo)
