Polish Thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a Crele Polish rooster that has black spots on his legs. He has been healthy his whole life. Is this normal or a disqualification?

Thoughts on this one? It's my last polish frizzle!

I've never had crele polish so not sure on the black spots. When you say disqualification, are you thinking of showing the bird?

I would say pullet. Don't take all my guesses on your birds as gospel, they are difficult to sex and some can keep their identities hidden. I've got a headache at the minute with my 4 blue ones. Was sure all were pullets but I heard a crow so they have me guessing again!!

Been reading through the post, last year I got 4 buff laced polish hens and I've never seen such egg laying out of such scrawny flighty hens, thankfully this year they have mellowed just a bit, though they still get hysterical sometimes. I do trim their crest, but here is one of them without a beard, which I prefer.

My silver laced polish "Einstein" finally laided her first egg! She is over 8 months old. Her egg is the small white one in the picture. The dark one is from my Cuckoo Maran named Pebbles. By the way, I do trim her feathers around her eyes. She just can't see if I do not and will walk right into things.

Congratulations on her egg :clap
That's fantastic news!! No probs on trimming her up, I often do some of my larger crested ones with no probs at all.

It's a two person job for the best results. One to hold the bird and one to trim the crest with sharp scissors. I just take the feathers off a bit at a time around the eyes and a little bit above that. I just trim the ends of the feathers I don't get right down near the skin. You really don't have to take that much off for them to see better. This second pic is not that good but you should get the gist of it.
