This is my sweet polish! Can anyone tell yet whether she is an Elvira or an Elvis yet?

I'd say, Elvira. I have buff polish, and the darker colored ones are roo, so it looks like this polish is lighter colored soo maybe a pullet? that's what im guessing :p

That's interesting. I have 2 buffs that I think are roos (they had smaller and different shaped crests, feathering in slower, and stand more erect) but they are very light. They are still young though so who knows. I just sold one to a friend so I'll find out eventually if it is a roo or not. The other will probably get sold when it's 5-6 weeks old so I won't know on that one for sure either. They were the only buffs to survive so I didn't have any others to compare them to. They were from two different batches though.

Oh ok, lol I have 4 buff laced, 2 dark, 2 lighter, we assumed that the darker ones were roos, bc they try to breed the hens so we thought that the darkness were because they were roos. You are right too lol. It could be an Elvis but I think it is an Elvira. But I could be wrong.

Thank you for answering! :) We love watching her/him. Elvira is by far the most fun chicken we have to watch. She's very goofy to say the least!! She is a little older than my other chicks, yet she seems to be developing a little more slowly than the other chicks. (Slower mentally that is) She is very goofy sometimes. Sometimes she just sits and stares. She will also look at the freckles on my arm put her beak on me and just sit with it there. She also doesn't seem to be able to perch or fly like the rest of my chicks. We could sit and watch her for hours though. We have made sure that we accommodate her with her little quirky needs. I don't want this to sound bad, but I am worried that she just might be a little slow. If she is that's ok to. We will always make sure she has everything she needs. :D and... trust me when I say she has a VERY special place in my heart!!!

Has anyone else had an experience like this with a polish chick? Or should I eventually expect her to catch up with the rest?

My first foray into the world of Polish....
Rick Ochicken a Frizzled Polish Tolbunt Cockerel (I think..what with hair like that!).
He's a bit wonky can't quite hang out on the perch with the big kids yet (he falls off), but his soul-mate a lovely little Welsummer pullet named (badly) Wellie, loves him.
LOL.
I just keep waiting for him to break out in some 80s era Cars song....
