Polish Thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He rolled his eyes and went outside.  I explained that in chicken math they do not count.  If it doesn't lay an egg around here, I don't count it.  Last fall I technically had 42 birds, but only 2 counted with chicken math.  The rest were molting, pullets, or roos I was growing.  I told him the 2 layers were lonely, and he looked like he might cry.  Poor long suffering man.

I literally just laughed so hard I snorted Dr Pepper out my nose..
I made fried chicken and the works for dinner tonight..while it was cooking I started on my birds evening snack..his comment..'these animals eat better than me'.. lol.. I stopped trying to explain chicken math to him..he just says "more eggs?" Or what building are we converting next..

Thank you....the lady I got them from said the same thing! Unfortunately I can't have roo's in my bunch so I'm a bit sad if this is the case...they are so pretty!! (to this first time chicken owner) I will give it a few more weeks and see what you all think then! thanks again!

Polish mix 4 weeks old.....boys or girls??? any guesses???

What are they mixed with?!?! They're adorable!!! We're partial to the polish mixes as well!

We've been mixing male sultans with female polish for light headed pultans and polish rooster with sultan hen for a very dark almost black sultan, but we call it a Pultan!

This is our keeper from first round of PolishRoo/SultanHen!

This is our first SultanRoo/PolishHen Pultan!

It really does take awhile with polish crosses. Here are a few of my crosses:

Polish x Cuckoo Marans Pullet:

Polish x Egger pullet:

Polish x Egger cockerel:

I have two that color. It was unexpected, and the roo is a SL polish and the hen was a drab brown. The "Doves" are the sweetest gals and are laying now. (That means I have to count them) One is laying green, the other pale brown.

No where near as cute as your girls, but I get one blue and one green egg every day and they're pretty friendly girls..
My 1st babies of this year are out of them..

They love their surrogate mama..I started out letting chicks lay on the heating pad, but this seemed more natural..I have the starter brooder tote in my bedroom and honestly only know they're in here when they're out eating..quietest way to brood chicks ever ♡

They are very pretty girls! I need to actually remember to take the camera home and get some new pictures. I always forget the darn thing at work.

Tell me about your starter brooder tote please. What did you use, and how did you do it?
