Polish Thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He sorta looks like a cross btwn a buff and a GoldLaced but I can't say for sure as I've not seen a lot of crosses. ..but in my imagination that's what one would look like..lol..
I know that's not much help but I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will chime in.
Not sure what your daughter shows in ..mine is in 4H..but we checked before I ordered paint Silkies and Tolbunt bc we knew the paint wasn't recognized and weren't sure about Tolbunt. They said she could show in the 'Other' category I believe they called it..she would still show against other Silkies or Polish, I'm guessing just judged on everything but color? Thats the way I understood it.
It's a pretty bird regardless

When you look under his wings, there is a lace pattern going on. My daughter is going into 4H, and I have asked the lady who is the leader about it. She said that she doesn't know much about the polish breed either. In all the years that I can remember of our local fair, no one has ever showed a polish chicken. I guess we'll have to wait and see when we go to take him in for the show to see what they say.
Thank you, he sure is a pretty boy.

We are dealing with the same issue..all the 4H kids get hatchery RIRs, that's my main goal with the Polish and Silkies is to be able to provide the kids with more variety in choices.
I'd rather them have access to a variety of breeds, even if they are non traditional colors. . I think quality over uniformity is the better choice every time ♡

I think it would be neat if the kids were able to show whatever kind they want. Instead of the cochins, heavy cochins, bantams, Bron Browns and RIRs. After a while people get tired of seeing them, and need a variety to see. That way people also know about other breeds that are out there. I'm really hoping they will allow him in the fair, I know that would be a nice experience for people. So what if their a cross between two colors, as long as they are pure breeds. What should it matter. I was talking to one lady that said if they don't allow the kids to show what they want, then their taken away from the kids.

Oooo! Stormy is BEAUTIFUL!! Do you know what color she is? I think it's too young to tell but I would say Pullet

I've no idea, was purchased as buff, wings and tail feathered our blue with a little buff tipping. And the tufty head looks bluer with a little lacing.
The guy we got it from has buff laced and blues maybe a blended.
We're keeping to see
