It does depend on the color of the bird, my white crested blue lays off white, my buff laced lay white, my polish lay a lot of torpedo shaped egg.

A little off topic, but has anyone here ordered the crested special from ideal poultry? What did you get? I'm considering ordering some (for pets!) I have polish now that I adore! Thanks

So excited! Miss Tina Turner laid her first egg today. Went out this morning and she was sitting in box went out 30 min later and there it was. Was beginning to wonder if they would ever lay.

I got the 25 assortment.... only lost 2 of them and the other 23 were 8 red?(1st pic) polish(some ended up with white in crest, didn't see these on the list but thats what I got, thought for a while they were buff lol but not yellow enough and my first chicks), 5 gold laced polish, 1 sultan, and 5 mottled houdans & 4 crevecours. I'll be honest I was hoping for some blue lol but hubby wouldn't let me add to the order. LOL

I ordered in August but because I also wanted to order blue cochins(limited availability) I actually didn't get them until early October but temps were great for shipping then, not too hot and not too cold. Here are a few pics from when they got older. I'll try to get a better picture of the Red I still have thats developing a white crest.
