Polish Thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope at least one is female but either way we love our chicks. Actually just noticed that iggy is starting to grow some waddles as well. They will be 7 weeks on monday.

I also had hoped for girls but out of 3 I got 2 roos and only one hen. I plan on putting them in with some silkies here eventually.. :)

I've had the same with my Tolbunt that I hatched. Only 4 actually hatched Tolbunt colour and 3/4 are male :(

I put this one up for sale yesterday ~

Thanks!

They only come in the large version, no bantam Tolbunt yet. I spoke to someone from the polish club of Great Britain and they said there is someone in Germany trying to make the bantam version of Tolbunt.

Have you thought of hatching some eggs to get Tolbunt? That's the route I had to take as they seem to be like rocking horse poop here in Yorkshire UK.

Aww no vets nearby that see chickens? Luckily I live in the sticks so we have alot of livestock vets but I know in some places they are hard to come by. :(

Yeah,no offense to ANY breeders or farmers(as that's part of my income) but I tire of these vets who if the animals not worth more then say $20 then it's not worth the effort or reasources. Some of my chickens took years to track down, should be worth something to some vet. Maybe new vets should have to save at least 2hurt chickens before they graduate, lol can you guys imagine? There would be want ad's for chickens needing saving. Ah back to my happy chicken place with rainbows&butterflies,,oh&vets happy to save chickens.
BTW
Our first polish roo crowded this week was so cute, he's got a lot to compete with in two neighboring coops(Big Alpha rooster&two younger brothers, known as the pirahanas,,name should tell you all you need to know

Have a happy Friday all you polish fans.

I've still got a couple of the girls from that hatch. They are attention seekers and scream at you!!

Haha yeah all mine chatter constantly and always want attention lol. My girl is a mix and didn't get the crest. She is only about the size of a sparrow. :) I would love to work on some breeding projects but polish are so hard to come by where I live. I want more hens but can't find them anywhere local.. :(

Yeah we had a chick who got sick and was suffering. I called our local vet to see how much they would charge to euthanize, they said 160 dollars. It was after hours but the thing was only a week old and weighed about nothing. Said it would be easier to do it ourselves. Come on this isn't some chicken we raised to eat. It's a pet. I can't kill it... so even if you have a vet local sometimes they still suck.... :(
