Polish Thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow she is bantam and you found her at a feed store. You don't know how lucky you are. I searched high and low for golden laced or any other color and they were almost impossible to find in the bantam size. You definitely scored!! :)
I got four of em from a feed store. My 5thone was listed as a bantam however she is a bit large to be.

I ended up with a Sultan Bantam, and the Polish Bantam. Never thought I would end up with the "Poodles of the chicken world" They came from a Cal-Ranch feed store which I was told uses Dunlap hatchery out of Idaho. When I looked at their website I couldn't find buff polish but you can buy standard sizes in other colors and assorted bantams. I just don't think I'm brave enough for the gamble. In the spring, I'll have a better idea as to what to look for in the feed store bin. So far their quality seems to be very nice. No missing toenails, crooked beaks, and haven't had any health issues thus far.

Tell me, do you think you could gauge sex by leg size at a few days old? Maybe not be 100%, but do you think there would be a noticeable difference? Or by their stance? Big Bird was bigger than most in the bin(hence the name), I just assumed she was possibly a few days older. The store was getting chicks in every few days so it's hard to compare. As a newby, I didn't have a clue as to what I was getting. I feel more prepared now!

My Ameraucana cockerel's legs are a little on the slim side.

@Agarrard
Yeah, for the most part boys legs tend to be a little more hefty. with some breeds the boys will have shorter wing feathers than the girls. You can't always rely on the "boys have more attitude" theory because the ones with the most attitude from both of my chick batches ended up being girls. Good Luck!!!

Chicken little isn't big on the camera but I talk about him so much I felt like I should post a picture lol. He actually lives with his brother in a coop. They take the cake on getting along so well. :)
