Polish unable to walk

My 3 year old polish as of today is unable to walk, she will just sit on her hind legs like in this picture.


Every time she tries to take a step she will just stagger, and has to catch her balance.
Besides her legs, she is alert, but slightly panicked and breathes heavily when distressed. Not lethargic.

Are these the symptoms of Mareks? Or possibly something different?

Have you ruled out egg bound, ascites/waterbelly, impacted crop?

I have ruled out egg bound and impacted crop yes. I didn't check for ascites, just because I figured that wouldn't cause her to be unable to walk. I will check though

It could be many things. I would start some poultry vitamins in her water containing riboflavin along with other B vitamins. Has she been laying eggs lately? Can she curl her toes when you touch them, or move her legs? I would probably bring her inside in a basket or box, to watch her food intake and droppings.

I held her and also watched her move, and found that yes she can curl her toes and move her legs.
I brought her in and put some antibiotics and vitamins into her water. Hopefully there will be some improvement in the next few days!
