Polish x Silkie mutts growing out.

Ok! Here they are now.

The lighter silkie one and the polish with the red chest went off to another home.

The darker one has this silver beginning to come in on his hackles.

The hard feathered blue silkies are very nice looking still, though I'm suspicious that both are boys.
I'm getting some interesting patterns out some that were plainer blue last time.

Is blue splash a thing, or is it normal for blue to have these darker spots? Skinny is beginning to redeem himself on the personality front, as well as looks.

My Elvis. His blue has these striped feathers coming through on the wings, very handsome.

Nine is getting outright speckled in the chest, and has a big fat comb and beard now to go with his big fat attitude.

Boris is still very handsome, and sweeter than he was a couple weeks ago.

Leo continues to impress, and is one of the two I still have hope are pullets.

Nothing too interesting in the younger crew, tho they're still charming. Only chicken of note is the buff Orpington I hatched with them who is just huge, much bigger than the black, blue, and lavender Orps in the same hatch.

This is Neo, my early Hatcher from the young ones and my partner's pet.

My black silkie mix looks exactly like your Neo. I'll post a pic for you tomorrow to compare! I dont know what she is mixed with but strongly suspect one of my polish hens

Oh, and blue with darker spots is normal. Splash is an off-white color.

Ok cool! My blue orpingtons are very even gradients, it's interesting the different ways it can express.

Here are some updates, there's a couple of the younger ones too who have gotten a lot of nice colour, I'll try and get pics.

Nine started to get aggressive with my mother, so he went to freezer camp, too bad cause he just kept getting more beautiful. The half silkie blues are really handsome now too, tho they may be next on the list, they're getting jerky.

Leo and mop are laying! I wasn't expecting them to start this fall. Leo likes to play pretend broody when she lays and tuck all the fake eggs under her.

I'll take some fresh pictures next chance I get, some of the younger batch have great reds coming in.

Here's Rusty! I really like the hard feathered silkie look, especially the crest.

The other boys may be pure polish, just with mixed colours.

Neo is still extremely handsome.
I'll try tomorrow if I have light to catch the frizzle/frazzle. He's pretty much fully feathered now, tho still small, so maybe a frizzle after all? He's pretty timid.

Those two mixed color polish in the third pic are gorgeous! :love I wonder what colors were crossed to make that pattern.
