The inflation we have seen is nothing in comparison to what we will be seeing.

I don't know about where you are but I can remember inflation around 15% in the UK. It was one of Maggie Thatcher's finest achievements, second only to her home value bubble that burst after borrowers had followed her advice and borrowed more money on the back of inflated property values. Many thousands lost their homes and all of their equity.

According to all FEDERAL POVERTY LEVEL GUIDELINES for the United States, that's who.

The checks and balances that determine the poverty levels have been in place since the 60's.
They're not exactly controversial, so I don't understand what you're all "popcorn" about.

I just wrote to all of mine about renewing the wind energy tax credit. Lamar Alexander had the gaul to say "The wind companies have had 20 years to get their act together, that's long enough!".

Excuse me??? How many decades have the oil and coal companies been getting corporate welfare? Not to mention, TN was recently the site of the worst coal ash spill in history, devastating Kingston and everything downstream from it.

I was thinking more along the lines of the Zimbabwe inflation. It cost more money to print the currency than it was worth when printed. Inflation is the way government steals the peoples' savings.

Our family's ranch was included in T. Boone Pickins' original wind farm plan. Since it was scrapped, we have since been approached by two other operators offering wind farm deals. The last two were flakes. We read their contracts, and they had so many outs and special clauses that they were more dangerous than profitable.

The Pickens contract was about sixty pages long. It addressed all sort of issues such as cutting trees (there are none, it is the plains) and cattle guards etc.

I saw Mr. Pickens on television, and he said we would have to see natural gas at six dollars before the wind farm would be competitive. I think Henry Hub had it at about $3.80 this morning.

Excuse me but would you be so kind as to tell me what corporate welfare that has gone just to the oil companies.

Even though I generally like what is in that proposed letter, it is just like a lot of other stuff you find on the internet. It just is not true. That particular chain letter has actually been around since 2009 and other then the first paragraph (Buffett actually did say that) the rest has nothing to do with Buffett and he is certainly not asking anyone to send that letter. Notwithstanding, there are a few things in there that would do well for Congress to pass, however, it aint going to happen.
