poll: are you legal or an outlaw?

I will be illegal as soon as I get my chickens. I want to try to have the city ordinance changed. the thing that drives me crazy is that I live less than a 1/4 mile into the city limits on a 1/2 acre. Once my coop is built I am going to put large shrubs and flowers around it so hopefully it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb..hahaha

I'm legal. We live on 20 acres out in the boonies and are zoned agricultural. When we bought the property we had to read the zoning regs which stated that because the property was agricultural we couldn't complain if our neighbors made noise.

Well I thought I was legal. I read my entire HOA doc (prior to buying to make sure I wasn't buying in one of those crazy HOA areas... because I do not want to deal with yard Nazis). Then I read up on the county laws which said it was okay.... and then about a week after getting them I realized I was in Pinal County not Pima county. WOOPS. I then read some stuff here and realized I needed to read a different document of my HOA, not the stuff that says I have to ask before building something taller than my wall (blah blah blah). So after reading the "correct" document I'm not quite sure if I'm legal or not, and have decided to just not bother trying to figure it out. It's a very very long run on sentence that ends with no commercial use. I have no intention of commercial use, so I just decided to let it go and hope it never becomes an issue. Seriously though as much as the cow smell permeates the town if the wind goes the wrong way I just can't take me having "chickens" as illegal seriously.

I haven't even bought the pullets and I'm illegal. Akron Ohio ordnance says 100' from any dwelling. i have deep lot and neighbors on both sides. 1 unhappy neighbor. Any suggestions?

I don't know what the laws are but we have 7 acres of steep, rocky land, zoned agricultural/woodland. So I assume we are legal. I have had up to 12 chickens in the past. Currently I have 1 rooster and 3 hens.

Legal. But roosters are not allowed. If one has a rooster, the fine is $500, plus removal of ALL the hens as well. Harsh. So, please send good vibes that all my little ones (6 chicks) were correctly sexed!
Luckily, there is a lady who accepts roosters in a nearby rural area that allows roosters.

Legal; living in the middle of nowhere with 22+ chickens, no limits... which isn't necessarily a good thing, considering we aren't afraid to get more chickens. XD

Legal! We live basically out in the middle of nowhere... we live on 70 acres and the nearest neighbor is 2 1/2 miles away! We have about 80 chickens,I think, and 10 LOUD roosters. My town is a small working-class farming town, almost everybody here, even the people who live in town, has at least a small backyard flock and most even have a rooster.
