Legal...8 pullet limit...check. No Roosters...Check. We live in the city. No one behind us and both neighbors to each side are kind.

well shhhhhhhh. I suppose I'm an out law. I love my birds dearly and pray all goes well. thank God so far so good. they had annexed our area into the city before we moved here but I have a huge 10;000 sq foot lot with NO neighbors behind me and we live pretty far from what is the heart of they city. they just voted on the issue again and it was shot down by two new council members. which really sucks because I had hope..... its ridiculous!! so I guess even though horse property is across the street I'm an out law... sad really because I live waaay out here. if they didn't annex the property I'd be fine but sadly they made us city. I'm praying I am far enough out here that it will work out. I pray! really sad you can't have a chicken if you want... Ridicules if you ask me! anyway that's my story.....

I haven't even bought the pullets and I'm illegal. Akron Ohio ordnance says 100' from any dwelling. i have deep lot and neighbors on both sides. 1 unhappy neighbor. Any suggestions?

I prefer to call my girls "Cental Asian Squatting Ground Fowl" as chickens are illegal. Technically coop is sitting over the property line, hence the "squatting". They are in the scrub tree/bush area between our property and the neighbors driveway/cornfield. I told my husband to move me to the farm before I brought it to him....

You can check with your county's extension agent.

Not sure - our little area consists of 11 - 2 acre lots out in the boonies. The builder did write up some restrictions which included no farm animals, saying the rules were to be enforced by the HOA. Twenty years have gone by and no HOA was ever formed and everyone does there own thing. I got chickens 4 years ago and now 2 other families also have them.
