Such a cute hen! She is just like: What is that thing? Can i eat it?
More like”can I get a kiss?” She loves kisses and actively “kisses” other hens.

Barred Rock > Rhode Island Red
I own both, but my rirs are all mixed. One is top hen she doesn't qualify in the favoritism of the breeds just bird personality.

My Rirs from last year are mean, pick on everyone, even my geese fear them and that is saying something.

Anya top hen no one messes with, my jakes tries and she goes demented daisy and kicks him, only hen with spurs and she will remain that way.

Barreds have their click of two per buddy, there are four clicks in my flock. Dotty and Venus are never far appart, Emma and HC, Miracle Chicken and Broken Beak (beak is healed), Tootsie and Ducky.

I’ve only owned one and my Rosie is a mellow sweetheart. My cousin had about 30 of them when we were kids and I don’t remember any mean ones either. The only mean hen I have is an Easter egger/ Golden Phoenix cross.

I love BR! I’ve only had 5 before, but they all had such sweet, unique personalities! 4 were beautiful, strong, and stuck to a schedule everyday! They were friendly, and lasted plenty of eggs. The 5th was deformed, could barely walk as a chick, but developed a gallop/hop, and he gets around just fine today! Luckily, he doesn’t try to breed or fight, and roams alone, but roosts with everyone else, and is super friendly!
