My husband had very bad acne until he was in his forties, and my female college roommate did too. They are both better now, but scarred. Not only by years with acne, but by people's attitudes toward something they had no control over . Both spent fortunes at dermatologists. And my female roommate was warned many times to NOT use makeup.
Since they both worked outdoors, it was difficult to control, and there was nothing they could do to really make it go away. With heat and hunidity they didn't always look their best, but both did what they could given the circumstances, i.e., given the deck of cards they were dealt at birth.
The good news is that they both have a very healthy and kind attitude toward other people with any kind of "defect" and have learned to be nice to people, despite their biased attitudes. After all, as the saying goes, "Beauty fades.......etc."
You might be more comfortable if you kept some sanitary hand wipes at your register.
