8 F at ten AM - up to 16 F at 2:45. Snow and ice has been cleared from the front walk, parking area and vehicles - a little at a time. Still have the back deck to address.

Mine love peaches, too. I just don't freeze them for the water bowl anymore. When they thaw, they make a nasty, mushy, hairy-looking mess that makes you stare hard to make sure it's not alive before you try to scoop it out. Eeeewww!

I am sure my gang wouldn’t care, they eat anything they can get their gobs on. Including eye balls!

Is that "normal" for this time of year or has the polar mess amplified it for you?
And we've climbed all the way up to 21F, but dropping again, shortly. School is technically back in session tomorrow, but it's virtual, with staff and students all logging in from home. Yeah, we all know how well THAT works with middle schoolers, right?

Remote learning has to have parents onboard 100% or it's a complete failure. Many places have remote learning (Australia outback is famous for that, and many places in the North here), but it's hard that's for sure!

When I was a kid back in the 70's and 80's we had winters like I am having now. By the late 90's it was less snow and cold, last year and this year were more 'normal', seems every 8 yrs or so now, winters were 'good old fashioned' winters. 2 winters ago it was such a lovely mild winter - we had 2 snow events which melted and warmed up afterwards.

Last winter we didn't get 'winter' until beginning of January, and it was so cold and snowy - miserable.

This winter we had snow end of November and it's pretty much stayed, we had a few warm days earlier this month but it didn't melt the snow away.

They are saying that this cold will stick around at least until the middle of March - oh joy.....

Hopefully we have a summer like last summer - HOT, HAZY and HUMID! And it lasted well into Sept, the heat started to really kick in around end of June so we had a good long stretch of hot summer weather - it was so hot my tomatoes wouldn't ripen - seems that the chemical that makes tomatoes turn red and ripen is deactivated if it's too hot - who knew!?

Currently it is -10C (13F) and still under a snow squall warning. I don't see snow happening as the wind is all wrong for me to get snow, I need a NW wind to get squalls, and it's currently westerly.

Small mercy there, I have enough snow! My sister though is getting hammered with snow again this winter - worse than last winter. And she wonders why I wouldn't move up there!!!! silly girl hahaha.
