Let Your Freak Flag Fly
My partner started with the "they were excited but it was my idea" option. At this point it is more like the "NO WAY" but I keep getting birds (not just chickens) anyway.

My sweetie's entire yard is devoted to permaculture growing. i'm more traditional with annual garden vegetables, perrenial herbs, fruit trees and berries. She was excited when I said I was getting chickens, and has been a big help. We don't agree on how to do everything, mostly because I do more reading, spend more time here learning from you all.So I’m curious if you are a couple, how did your partner react to you when you first wanted to keep chickens? (If it’s changed or you want to elaborate, please leave a comment!)
Thats a beautiful thing to read right there. ^^Dh and I were both on board to get chickens. Everyone in our family are pretty big egg eaters, I cook and bake with them a lot. Dh built the coop/run and I fast tracked my way to crazy chicken lady.
Full disclosure, he would get a bit irritated by my chick obsession at first. He viewed the chickens as a resource, not pets. Our kids immediately named them so they were pets from day one lol.
He did warm up to their chicken charm. When he would walk outside they'd all run up to him and follow him around, which won him over. Now we sit outside and we watch them together.
Well good luck finding one that shares your affinity with birds!Other, I'm Single. I have no partner to react to my 56 chickens, 4 Guineas, 1 Bourbon Red Turkey, & 5 BB Bronze Turkeys.
