If you get a NEW trailor home, then it's hurricane proof, not completely but better then the old times.

I used to live in a trailor but now living in a house. Maybe tearing the house down, it's VERY VERY OLD and has alot of work needed to be done to it, and moving into a trailor as soon as we can get approved.

Before I met my DH there was an old farm house here. He and his Dad burnt it down and moved this trailer in. It was really old too and needed a lot of work. He just wanted something to live in ASAP becasue he had just moved home from living in Alaska for 5 years.

We had a very similar situation on our property (minus the Alaska part - LOL). We burned down our old house last year and we live in a single wide trailer. It's decent, but way too small for us, and I HATE when storms come through. We're working on house plans to replace the farmhouse, but we're still several years from making it happen. I can't wait to build!

Here are some really cool pics of the house burn:

I live in a double-wide.

It's way bigger and nicer than the brick house we lived in before this! Our old house was about 1380 sq ft on a tiny city lot, and our double-wide is over 1800 sq ft on an acre and a half! We have a HUGE kitchen with an island, and a HUGE living room. The only thing we need more of is closets.

I finally live in the mtns of NC and I will never live anywhere else.

Actually I want to be what we here in Fl call a Snow bird. One house here for when it is cold there and one there when it is miserable hot and oh yeah full of rain and Hurricanes!!

Those are some cool pictures! You have a beautiful piece of property there. We would like to build some day too. We call it our "5 year plan"!!
