Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you all have a beautiful day!

My plans have changed. Due to weather conditions, fog and air density, my flight to San Francisco is canceled. And it’s a five hour drive each way. So, I’m staying home for the holiday.

Sydney is pretty even keeled. She was pretty aggressive with the new girls for a bit but then she was good. She hangs out with Hattie and Lady Featherington most of the day. No drama there.

Frankly if I hadn't tried to add more chickens this year it would have been a nice peaceful year. All the issues have been with the new ones.

It always seems that adding new birds is stressful. First we would go thru long quarantines (never knowing if all was ok or not, sometimes losing a quarantine bird or chick), then there's getting new birds accustomed to the yard w/ a fence between the flock & new birds, & then the final dramas when putting all the birds together. So glad we won't be doing it any more. We have 4 Silkies left now.

Finally put Suzu outside yesterday after recuperating in-house from 2 nares surgeries. She couldn't believe she was finally outside. She headed straight for a 45-min dustbath!

This is a lousy time to travel anyway. We're driving only 5 miles but I would prefer staying home w/ the birds.

Actually their feet are frozen to the frame, and they are yelling for help!
