I definitely recommend removing the dowel perches and buying some nice natural branches, maybe moving the rope perches lower to encourage them to spend less time on them. I also highly recommend the type of swing I showed in my images, my birds LOVE that; they spend almost all day on it, and it functions as a chew toy to keep their minds busy too. With a greater variety of toys placed in more convenient locations, they should start engaging with them!@BantyChooks this was the cage before which I didn’t realize just how barren it was until I took these picsand I added some of the other toys back and moved some stuff around. Hopefully they like it.
I was gonna put the corner shelf back because they LOVE it but I couldn’t get the new one to fit right to attach it so I just left it off. I feel really bad but they’ll have to adjust
they’re actually kinda lazy and sometimes use that as a stepping stone to get from one side to the other so they’ll have to not be lazy lol I also fully cleaned the cage out too
It takes many months and quite a lot of persistence to switch budgies over most of the time. What I do is grind the pellets, mix them with seeds, and moisten them so they clump together. This should be removed after about 4 hours, though, same with chop. During the rest of the day, I give them Lafeber Nutriberries which are better than most seeds in that they're already hulled and so the supplementation on them isn't lost via the birds hulling the seeds.I’ve read on it and even found a great recipe for that sort of veggie mix thing but I haven’t tried it yet.I did try offering them pellets though back when I had first gotten them and Dizzy flung them out of the bowl
I may need to try again because I know they’re supposed to be healthier for them but he’s a dramatic jerk. Maybe if I don’t give them a choice? Idk. Would budgies starve themselves to death?
