pollipazzi's 365 project

Pics
Those lights took over the building like chickens taking over Pollipazzi's life!
yes! haha!
there's a few buildings in town like that...fully covered in lights. it's a new trend i guess. and a little too much. this was the only one i saw with trees though 😂 there were more trees but i was in the car and my husband wasn't stopping so i could get a pic like a tourist 😂😂😂

Mine too! I can’t do much with them here until May, but like to start seeds end of January. I especially like varieties that come in fun colors.

What is happening?!?! Are there trees coming out the sides of the building? Lol
yes! i don't know why they thought to stick trees on the building. it looks like there was a big storm and the trees stuck into the building. i wonder how they even stuck them up there. 😂

i have tried growing different coloured tomatoes. the orange cherry ones (sungold) work out great, usually, but any purples don't seem to do well at all.
i'm down to maybe 4 varieties that i stick to. still there's very disappointing seasons.

a castle picture for today

Which varieties are you doing this summer? A small variety that did superb here one very very rainy, cool summer before I had my green house was honeycomb hybrid. They’re just a burpee seed but even my mother, who doesn’t water her garden and can’t grow with a darn had an abundance of them!

water is not a problem 😂
i usually do sungold (orange cherry), marmande (a sort of beefsteak. they produce a LOT), and a couple san marzanos and amish paste if i can save or find the seeds. i don't think i have ever seen honeycomb hybrids here.

Tomatoes are certainly persnickety about their growing conditions.

I love sungolds. I think they’re a hybrid and I’ve found that hybrids are the hardiest but I also like to be able to save my seeds so I try and do heirloom- but I usually toss in a few store bought hybrids just in case. Cherokee Purple is one I’ve had success with and also German Stripey (I think… there’s several varieties with German in the name and I mix them up sometimes). When conditions aren’t ideal I have best success with smaller varieties like cherries and Roma. I hope you have a good season with them this year!
