Is Latah available there? They're often grown outdoors further south in the UK - they're early enough that they tend to beat the worst of the blight. Grows as a sprawling, determinate-ish bush.

I found Maskotka (trailing variety) did really well when I was down in England too - blight seemed to mostly affect the foliage and I'd still get tons of healthy tomatoes.

Happy adoption day to all of you 🥳 they really knew how to choose the perfect chicken keeper! It’s been so fun following your journey with them. Give those little cuties a treat for me today and a scritch if they’ll let you!
thank you so much 🥰 it's been some journey, eh? 😂
the weather was so bad today. they weren't the happiest chickens.

I haven’t heard of Amish paste, I need to look those up. I’m stuck on what tomatoes to do this year, so maybe I’ll add that to my list. And if I find seeds, I’ll send some your way! You convinced me to try San marzanos this year, too! Not that I needed any more tomato seeds, but I mean, it’s not hurting anyone if I buy more, right?!

You’ll have to share as your garden takes off this spring!
i really like amish paste. it's a paste tomato, so good for cooking, but they are pretty good sliced too! i might just do one san marzano this year an two amish. (i did like 4 of each last year. too crowded!)
i will share of course!

i have never seen/noticed either of those. but thanks! i will keep an eye out!
what size(ish) tomatoes are they?
my guess is latah is a medium size and maskotka is a cherry? i could be way off but that's my guess.

i think the marmandes produce a lot before the blight, and same with the leaves getting the worst of it. still some good tomatoes come out of it. they produce SO many tomatoes.

Pretty much - Latah I'd describe as a small salad type (bit more than an inch across) and Maskotka is a cherry but often on the larger side iirc (been a good few years since I grew it)

Those marmandes look good!

thanks! i'll look out for them.

there's better tasting tomatoes than marmande, but they aren't bad. they're good on sandwiches.
