Pond egg

I had a few 'pond eggs' when my girls first started laying also - even had 2 'softies' in the pond and one of those that burst - my pond smelled like eggs for days! :sick But eventually they stopped doing that and now they all lay in one nest every morning. Congrats again - it's so exciting!

Thanks.

So here is something amusing. Yesterday I put those fake eggs in a neat cluster. A couple hours later, and right before leaving to work, I went in to check on them and noticed that they had moved the eggs. Well, they could have done so by trampling over them.
Anyhow, this morning I went into the coop to do my bird-duties, and I saw that they were again pushed into a pile by the door.

On a side update: two more eggs today, one blue green and one white. The white one like yesterday was laid in the water. I don’t know of course who is laying which egg. But this raises a question in my mind. Does each bird lay the same colored eggs every time? Or can they lay a white egg one day and a blue-green egg another day? Metzers said that the chocolate runners have a 70% chance of laying blueish eggs, but does that mean each time they lay an egg?

Was the egg that wasn’t laid in the water near the fake eggs? As for color I haven’t a clue I have 3 different color Runners they all lay blue eggs? Maybe the blue got washed off in the water;) Moving eggs around must be fun mine do it all the time even my drake will move an egg.

The blueish egg was laid about two to three feet away. So I’m not sure if the fake eggs were a factor. But, I’m leaving them in there, in the same pile that they moved them to, just in case.

Well the first egg laid back on 1/30/19 was laid on land and is white.
Man, I just need to run a wire out there and a cam. I would love to have Duck-o-vision on demand. Then I would know all their secrets.

Perfect way to spy on them. If nothing else the fake eggs will give them something to do lol. I’d leave them too. It will be interesting to see if the ones who haven’t laid yet (maybe) what color their eggs will be. Hard to know which are laying and which aren’t might be taking turns. I have no idea who is laying in my Runner house when I only get one or two eggs since I have 4 females and they all lay the same color. Now my next group of three will be fawn and white so that maybe an all white group.

Yaaaassss!!! That’s what I want to get next: a fawn-n-White and a blue female runner.
I guess I’m hooked now. :wee
