Pongo, our "Pet" deer

Deer can jump fences, never fear!

As long as you don't make'em too high, that is.

Very nice pictures! I'm a little suprised that he is coming in so close. Maybe because he is young and the apples are too much of a temptation?
I was looking into my pasture one night and saw all of these little white "ghost things" flying around. It took me a few minutes to realize that it was a young herd of deer running around, trying to get back out. And what I was seeing, in the dark, was the white underside of their tails...lol.

I don't know what kind of deer these are, but I like them coming around.
If we ever do get a garden in and our pasture fenced, I will still look forward to the deer in the yard.
I hope the don't get hit by a car or killed by hunters. Our neighbors accross the street have a bunch of deer skuls haning on their fence. I think they know our house is "Deer Friendly".

I'am a hunter but I always love seeing deer...and that looks like a Black-tail is he not? They are the mini version of our White-tail.
Hope he survives hunting season and traffic!

We have never had wildlife so close because we have always had dogs. Now that we have been dogless for some time, we see a lot of wild things. Unfortunately, some of the wild things eat our chickens.

Wow - those pics are great! Kudos to you for crawling on your bellies to get the great shots - I, too, especially like the one of him peeking around from behind the bush!

With those huge ears, I thought for sure it was a mule deer, but I don't know a thing about them. BEAUTIES!
