Hello

I've discovered these runny poos today, they're from my 15 week old Silkie. Do you think it could be an indicator of coccidiosis? I read it makes their poo runny and frothy but I also saw posts that said runny poo is normal.

She has normal poos as well I have to add.

It looks like cecal poop which happens about 1 out of every 8-10 "normal poops".
If she is active, eating and drinking well, then she's most likely fine. Symptoms of Coccidiosis include lethargy, going off feed, loss of balance and loose stools with mucous or blood. If you notice anything off, then it would be a good idea to have a poop sample tested by your vet.
Poop comes in a wide variety - here's more information for you:

Thank you! I did try and compare it to photos online but I'm new to chickens so wasn't sure. All three were a bit quiet today but probably because it was warm. I'll keep an eye on her but she seemed fine otherwise. She's eating and drinking normally.

Glad she is doing good!

If the weather is hot, they do seem to be quieter, just keep an eye on her. You're doing good! Poop inspections is very normal for chicken keepers - so keep it up. Anytime you see something you're concerned about, post it - we'll take a look:)

Thank you, it's so reassuring having a place to ask questions like that :)

I agree with Wyorp Rock - it looks a lot like cecal poop, which is nothing to worry about (although never get it on your hands or clothes - it's sticky and it STINKS!).

Never hesitate to post your questions or concerns on BYC - that's exactly what it's for, and you get really good eggs (pun intended ;) ) like Wyorp Rock who have tons of experience and are more than happy to share what they know. :D
