Poo, Why So Much??

The goslings are now 5 weeks old, starting to feather on their shoulders and tails. They just go off and free range all day. So, my garden is literally huge, we have the biggest garden in the village. It’s well over 1500sqft. And yet, after one day, it’s covered in goose poo. I’ve tried putting them in a run but at the end of the day it’s covered in poo. I tried putting scratch over it but the chickens don’t bother. They’ll have a proper shed and run soon and I had planned on them still free ranging everyday, but at the rate they fire waste out of their backend, they may need to stay in the run. Is this amount of waste from only TWO goslings normal? How do I handle it? It’s impossible to blast the whole garden with the hosepipe everyday and it’s an active garden, we like gardening and sitting in the garden. Is my garden just too small for them?

Yes, your garden is way too small for them. Growing goslings poop incessantly.

My garden is about three times bigger than yours, my two geese are adults, and they're only here for half the day. And my garden is still bordering on being too small for them. I rake and sweep a lot to maintain relatively poop-free spaces for me to walk and sit.
