Poop Board Design

I do not like sand, but am happy with pine shavings. We use it on our droppings board also. Our board is plywood covered with linoleum.The roost boards are 2x4s and they are moveable. I can take them out to clean them.

I use a poop board with PDZ. Started by just scooping every 1-2 days with one of these.

Then found that combining the scooper with also using a putty knife to flick the poops into the scooper allows for more precision.

I've never seen a scoop like that. Where did you find it/what is it called?

I use a garden hoe with the handle cut down to scrape PDZ and poop into piles and into a mesh organizer basket to sift it. There's only <1/8" of PDZ on the boards so can easily sift it all every day...adding a bit more PDZ when needed.

Spread the sifted PDZ back out with this...screws are now only sticking out 1/4".

That is what everyone says. I think I am the one that caused Amazon to run out of them. Haha. Here are the specs. I am sure you can google it and find a seller.

Thanks! I picked up a reptile substrate scoop today and it should be fine while brooding but it's awfully tiny compared to my 11x8 coop!

searching Amazon for "sifting scoop" brings up a lot of options, including a sifting shovel if you sift enough to need/want a $100 shovel with holes in it.
