Try this.....

If the bottom of the board is not good stiff plywood,
make the top part come all the way to the edge of the board.
Mine is laun(3/16" thk) and I had to add length to the top member of bracket.

Attach a hoizontal 2x4 to the wall. Attach one edge of the plywood to the 2x4. Put a leg under the two front corners.
