I’m wondering what kind of sand people use for their poop boards. I’m making almost like a rectangle “litter box” that goes under the roost to catch the poop and i wanted to use some sort of sand or something. Anyone have any ideas?

I use a combination of pine shavings and a little hay to freshen things up a bit. Makes a perfect compost mix once the chicken poo gets added - straight into the Barrow and into the compost corner.

Do you do the deep bedding method for the floor? (i think that’s what it’s called)
That's a good option. I do pine shavings in my coop. I sweep them out into the run, where i have deep litter. Also takes just a few minutes for me. Just be sure it's genuinely deep. I used to do deep bedding in my coop, but that's before I had ducks. They are too wet for that to work well.

I use plain play ground sand from HD. Comes in 50lb
bags.
