I have four chicks and our yellow one has a clear bottom vent but keeps getting poop on her feathers. When I wipe it I see exposed skin although the others aren't picking on her. What can I do to keep the poop from sticking? They'll be a week old tomorrow. Im new to this and appreciate any advice! Thank you.

I'm fairly new to chicken farming too but have read that Vaseline helps. Hopefully someone can confirm this or suggest something else. I read to stay away from oils because they go rancid.

Coconut oil is really the best thing to use on baby chick vents. It will help keep the poop from sticking, but it also has anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties that Vaseline doesn't have.
