... not. I didn't keep them 'seriously' until 2016, so all my experience is just that—my experience, which is limited. Thanks for the vote of confidence though.

I raised my first in the barn and after that the broody ducks did all the work.

Thanks for everyone being so nice. I have had Rhode Island reds and goats. My inlaws have cows and a horse. I love animals. I underestimated their pooping abilities. Lol.

They make chickens look neat and tidy, that's for sure. It's all worth it though. Ducks are the sweetest things.

Just sharing our experience with move-out dates: We live in Maine, so we didn't move our guys out to the duckhouse until mid-June (they were hatched 5 May). In mid-May, however, we started them on daily outdoor adventures (except when it was super rainy and cold). They had their first "swim" on the 19th. We used supplemental heat (a heat lamp) in the duckhouse for a little bit, but now they do great all winter with no supplemental heat.

My only suggestion is to please remove those paint cans so the ducks don't get sick. They will try to eat anything that's around.
Good luck, the mess only gets bigger as they grow.
We use a plastic palet for the bottom of their separated "kitchen" in their coop and the water just runs out of the coop!

No worries, they are never left unattended to free range in the bathroom. We sit with them, then it's back into the brooder.

Update! There is now a kiddy pool in my master bathroom for them to use as a brooder. Found for 10 bucks on Facebook. By the looks of it, I think they like it. Much more room.

How cute! By the way, putting some shavings on top of that might reduce the number of times you have to clean it... just a suggestion.
