Poor Beatrice :(

I got everything fed & watered and came home to Beatrice DEAD in the coop. No obvious injuries other than some plucked feathers and her comb was purplish...I'm guessing Barnabas (the rooster) did it....so now I'm down to just two GLC hens.

I hope nothing happens to them--I'm already pretty upset about Beatrice and I was just getting into the breeding season. She laid an egg today, too...which I saved...so I may have to incubate some more...I am going back out to Barnabas from them for now...

I am so sorry. I lost a hen this week as well and now know how awful it is to go out and find your hen like that.
