Poor cold duckies

Funny thing also, Willow and Violet came from the same place, they were indistinguishable when they arrived except for speculum color, they both molted, Willow returned to her usual colors, and Violet looks like that.

Also, I'm wondering if the runners' elongated body may leave them feeling more cold than other ducks. Is it possible their body doesn't retain heat as well . . . due to it being stretched out? 🤔

That makes sense too. They are also on the move quite a bit, so probably have a higher metabolism. At least higher than my muscovy drakes. :gig

Going down to -13 Friday night here, -1 Saturday. I worry about them, but really they have no real need to leave their house, if they choose to, its on them
I hope your crew enjoyed their brief respite! Mine thawed out enough to get grumpy (Muscovy vs. Rouen January Smackdown). They are going to have to patch things up quickly or miss out on group cuddles! 65 days until spring.

Yes, i fluffed everything up this morning, fresh bedding, fluffy hay, had 29 this morning, hard to imagine loosing 42 degrees and n less than 24 hrs, but that’s what they say is coming
I hope yours resolve their issues, maybe the temps will cool their jets.

Well, it’s hard to charge across the barn after your sister when you are both half frozen solid. Also, I can see the Rouen at the bottom of the pile actually welcoming the body warmth! Seriously though, hopefully this will pass quickly. I hope you and all of your duckies stay as warm as possible!
