So to start I'm sure she is fine, I'm keeping a close eye on her! Molly is a mixed breed pullet who must be close to starting laying. She's letting out some cracker egg song type calls today, whilst sitting on the nest off and on. She looks well and I've seen her eat and drink so I'm presuming it's just close to lay type behaviour, but every time I hear her I feel a mix of 'maybe that's the egg!' excitement and pure sympathy...Gawd imagine if I had to lay an egg every day!
I know...not a rational thought process :) Just felt the need to share with people who get it :)

Welcome to BYC!

Yeah, the pullet chorus can be cacophonous!!!

Last years girls were crazy loud and boisterous,
it went on for hours every day for weeks.
A few of them are still pretty darn noisy. SMH.

Even after 4 years I still run down to the coop a lot when a new group of pullets are getting ready to lay. Have Fun!!

Have to admit I was pretty horrified not to find an egg after yesterdays performance! She only slightly distracted me from my uni assignment...
