Well everyone I haven't said anything because I didn't want to jinx anything but I put 15 eggs in the incubator on 4-20. I got 12 Lavende Orps and 3 BCM from someone on the list. Well I candled them on day 6 ( I got to excited and couldn't wait) and most were easy to tell if they were developing, well except for the BCM. Well alL but 1 looked good. YAY !!!!
Well my hubby built me a candler that was brighter so I could see better. So of course I had to use it and decided to candle again tonight
( yes I know I should have waited but once again I couldn't help myself) Well it looked to me like 4 were no good. So I took them out and went to check just to make sure I was right. HERE is we're it all went BAD !!!!!
First egg...yep I was right it stopped developing so I was feeling pretty good. Right about now is probably when you all are guessing what happened next. I cracked the second egg and I was WRONG !!!!!!!!! Man did that SUCK !!!! Poor little guy was moving and everything.
So at that point all my confidence in what I did or did not see failed and I promptly put the last 2 backin the incubator. I wish there was a better way to know for sure. I will say though on a more sick and twisted note ( I'm a nurse so nothing freaks or grosses me out ) seeing a chick at that stage of development was actually pretty cool. I would have rather not have made the mistake, but at least I learned something. ( ok I might be saying that because it makes me possibly less wrong..I'm not completely sure yet
)
Question....if the other 2 are no good and I leave them in will they blow and if so, how much longer can they stay in ?
